制作者ご挨拶

皆さん、こんにちは！大阪・関西万博にようこそ。
そして、この特製ベンチ「万華鏡」をご覧下さりありがとうございます！

当社は電気工事を生業とする日本の電気工事会社です。
今年で創業77周年を迎え、関西と首都圏で日々、様々な電気工事を行っている会社です。
前回の大阪万博に引き続き（EXPO’70/1970年）、今回の大阪・関西万博でもパビリオンや万博の関連施設の電気工事に携わりました。
2025年、未来に向けたこの万博に、感謝とエールの気持ちを込めて、この特製ベンチを提供させて頂きます。
このベンチは日本固有の無垢の檜を使い、「万華鏡」をイメージして制作しました。この作品の名前は、ずばり「万華鏡」です。
万華鏡の刻々と変化する絵を世界に見立て、今回の大阪・関西万博のコンセプトでもある「いのち輝く」にも関連させ、ベンチに描く絵が「あたたかな生命のひかり」で、ベンチに取り付ける照明が「平和を望む命のぬくもり」を表すというコンセプトで完成させました。
会期中に万博を訪れる多くの人々に「夢や感動」をほんの少しでもお伝えできればと、以下にご紹介する当社の素晴らしいパートナーの皆さんと共に、何度も何度も綿密に話し合いこのベンチを作り上げました。
この「万華鏡」は昼と夜それぞれに違ったイメージで楽しんで頂けるように制作しております。

あたりが暗くなる頃には、全体を優しいほのかな灯りで作品を包みこみ、描かれた絵との調和で、皆さんに“幻想的な癒しの空間”を味わって頂けるよう工夫しました。ぜひ、お楽しみください。

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Osaka-Kansai Expo!
And thank you for taking the time to view this special bench, “Kaleidoscope”!
We are a Japanese electrical construction company specializing in electrical work.
This year marks our 77th anniversary, and we continue to undertake various electrical projects in the Kansai region and the Tokyo metropolitan area.
Following the previous Osaka Expo (EXPO ’70 / 1970), we have once again had the honor of contributing to the electrical work for pavilions and facilities at the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025.
As a token of our appreciation and encouragement for this Expo, which envisions the future, we are delighted to present this special bench.
This bench is made from solid Japanese cypress and was designed with the image of a “kaleidoscope” in mind.
Its name is, appropriately, “Kaleidoscope.”
Just as a kaleidoscope creates ever-changing patterns, representing the diversity of the world, we linked this concept to the Expo’s theme: “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”
The artwork depicted on the bench symbolizes “the warm light of life,” while the lighting attached to the bench represents “the warmth of life that wishes for peace.”
Together with our amazing partners, whom we introduce below, we meticulously planned and created this bench with the hope of sharing a bit of “dreams and inspiration” with the many visitors who will come to the Expo.
This “Kaleidoscope” bench is designed to offer different experiences during the day and night.
As evening falls, gentle, warm lighting will softly envelop the bench, harmonizing with the artwork to create a “magical and soothing space.”

光があるから、色が見える。
色は、光の居場所をおしえてくれるものであり、命の痕跡。
私は、色の媒介人として、光が宿すぬくもりと、万物に息づく命の気配を、
万華鏡のように移ろう、こころの重なりとして映し出しました。
ここで過ごすひとときが、あなたの想像力にそっと触れ、
まだ見ぬ風景を開いてゆく、灯火となりますように。

Because there is light, color becomes visible.
Color tells us where light resides — it is a trace of life.
As a mediator of color, I have reflected the warmth held by light
and the presence of life breathing through all things,
as shifting layers of heart, like a kaleidoscope.
May the time you spend here gently touch your imagination,
and become a glow that opens unseen landscapes within you.
